Staff IDs
Under the watch of the former minister for Education Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Ghana Education Service(GES) absorbed the 2019 graduates from CoE into the service. Officially, on the appointment letter assumption of duty begun on the 4th. January 2021 though schools were reopened 18th. January 2021.
It is becoming worrisome that for almost three months, newly posted trained teachers have not heard even the cry of a bird on STAFF ID nor REGISTERED NUMBER. GES should, and start providing timelines so its performance would be properly accessed.
Details of posted teachers were taken from the very moment appointment letters were submitted to the regions and the districts.
Majority of the recruited teachers submitted such details before 4th January, 2021.
GES therefore may have no moral right to associate its incapability to untimely submission of details – maybe that will come from districts.
I must say that, if clearance were absolutely secured before postings as MoE claims, STAFF IDs and REGISTERED NUMBERS would have been issued if only it is not inapt on the part of GES.
Newly posted teachers are dying. They are starving to death.
Hon.Minister for Education Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, permit me to paraphrase what you said in your interview with Joy news after your appointment, ” The teacher’s welfare is my concern”.
Honourable, in juxtaposition with GES and all other respective bodies, please work on our STAFF IDs, REGISTERED NUMBERS and get us PAID.
We trust your words, Doctor.
We need the staff IDs for both biometric registration and be able to apply for our registered numbers
