Allow Public Basic School Teachers To Go On Vacation, Next Time Plan All Your Activities To Fall Within The Academic Calendar. CCT To GES
CCT-GH CALLS FOR REVERSAL OF EXTENSION OF VACATION DAY TO 17TH.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
According to Ghana Education Service the National Standardised Test for P4 will be written on the 17th of December 2021.
And as a result this all Basic schools will vacate on the 17th of December 2021.
GES will make up for the lost vacation period in the next academic calendar.

BASIC SCHOOLS VACATION
According to Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana they have sighted directives from some Directorates of Ghana Education Service asking Basic Schools to stay in school till the 17th of December, 2021.
From them these directives are meant to enable Primary four pupils to undertake the National Standardized Test by the Ministry of Education scheduled for 17th of December, 2021.
The academic calendar for 2021 is supposed to end on 7th December, 2021 for the JHS and 10th December, 2021 for the Pre-school and Primary.
We want to state unequivocally that we do not agree with this directive and that the Ministry should schedule such tests to fall within the academic calendar.

We are calling on GES to reverse this decision with immediate effect and allow teachers to proceed on their vacation.
