We cease this opportunity to wish all trainees a restful leave.

UPDATE ON STATE OF AFFAIRS

➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖

Fellow Nation Builders,

This release comes in to provide a quick update on major concerns pertaining to the prospect of our engagement with NABCO. Several issues have been raised, most of which center on the timeline for the materialization of the permanent employment.

It is a critical issue that needs to be tackled squarely. The government has not neglected the materiality of the need to safeguard the future of the youth. Per the design of the NABCO scheme, which was specified in the terms of engagement, the three-year period was specifically purposed for the acquisition of employable skills and experiences. If we are to objectively go by this measure in our judgement of the initiative, no sound conclusion can be drawn other than the achievements meeting the objective.

That notwithstanding, the government’s assurance to ensuring that the remaining number of trainees on the scheme get sustainable career pathway provisions remains feasible. The president has stated on several occasions his commitment to finding avenues for trainees to be absorbed into permanent streams of work. His assurance coupled with management’s arrangements through the CPTP give us a solid point of hope for better days ahead.

This week rolls into the last week of October, thus, trainees should expect further directives from the secretariat in connection with whether or not they are to remain at post pending government’s final decision latest by the close of this month.

The NSTA in-person training exercise is ongoing for selected trainees who opted for entrepreneurship, further learning and placement with the private sector as well as those who per chance received the message to partake in the training program.

Be rest assured that nothing less than a favorable decision by government will be given in no time.

Let’s take note of the following:

➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖

1. The government is already working on prevailing issues, which the permanency remains a major concern. Do not be deceived by the antics played by any action group painting the image of influencing subsequent decision by government. In effect, do not get involved in activities such as demonstrations, verbal attacks or any social group action organized with the view of affecting any influence. The Akufo Addo-led government is a listening government.

2. Heal Ghana Trainees with arrears are to note that payment has commenced with some confirming receipts yesterday. The rest will be paid as the validation continues.

3. Payment of arrears for September and October allowances being worked on. Remain optimistic as measures have been taken by the government to weed out graduate unemployment.

“Be Proud Nation Builders”.
