A Polite Advise To Teacher Kwadwo And All Teachers In Ghana, You Have A Lot To Say But HOW You Say It Is More important”

The Culture Of Silence In GES Is More Dangerous Than The Information Of Terrorist Groups In The Country, Former Deputy Communications Director of CCT-GH.
My worry with Teacher Kwadwo’s issue is not about losing his job. That was just a matter of time and I’ll explain. My real worry is how he handles himself NOW. His utterances will determine how many doors will open or shut and the people who would want to do business with him. Kwadwo will survive. He’s talented. He will turn this into a springboard but he needs to manage it well. I, for instance, shy away from people who badmouth their previous employers, no matter how good their case is.
I’ll be the last person to defend GES and I have nothing against Kwadwo. For the record, I introduced him to KSM and set up his 1st breakthrough interview on TGIF. I saw his potential and encouraged him.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t and cannot defend his approach against GES. Let me underline APPROACH again. I will defend his right to be heard any day! The reason is simple: A society, where any employee(both gov or private) is able to take on their institution publicly and shred them into pieces, call them out, describe them anyhow and criticise them at will, DOES NOT exist! Not even in the so called Liberal democracies.
If all unhappy soldiers, police officers, judges, state officials, public servants etc had the freedom to take on their superiors and organisation the way he did, Ghana will be in flames within minutes. I’m sure staff of GES HQ would have done a better job, willingly. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. We should not confuse criticism with attacks. Walking out and sharing details of meetings and setting up elderly people at district offices for public ridicule, for instance, is unacceptable. If all students in his class and their parents were allowed the freedom to publicly attack him like that, he would not have survived as a teacher for a term. Dude has done some great humanitarian job for the kids and communities and I commend him highly for it.

As I indicated earlier, I’ll defend his right to free speech any day. I also quit GES immediately I got into the media and had the opportunity to comment on national issues and I think that should have been his 1st option.
He may want to even make this campaign a full time job. My only advice to him is be careful with those who make him feel he’s the blow man to reform GES. You have a lot to say Bro but HOW you say it is more important. I wish you well.
