REDUCTION IN AFFORDABILITY

With the recent deductions on Teachers Salaries offlate, Teachers Fund deem it very necessary to address the reduction in affordability.

According to the release from Teachers Fund their attention has been drawn to a widespread reduction in affordability for the month of December.

Per their research This appears to have been caused by a special deduction made on payroll by the employer.

How are they planning to fix the problem at hand. Teacher Fund deem it necessary and have notified Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) about the complains. And they are going to follow up the request and keep you posted about the outcome.

We are all hoping something good comes at of these, as recently Teachers have been taken for granted by both the employers and the Teacher Unions with certain Deductions which teacher are not happy about.

Statistically this year 2021 EMIS, a branch of Ministry of Education has revealed a shocking data indicating that between 2020 and 2021, eighteen thousand, three hundred and seventy-six (18,376) primary school teachers resigned from the service lowering the number of primary school teachers by 14.7%. In addition the statistics uncovered that 16,784 left the JHS. This result according to stakeholders is unusual, shocking and disturbing since Ghana has never seen a close to 15% annual attrition ratio like this before.

As teachers are not well motivated and care for why won’t they quit when approached with a better jobs.
