Update from Ghana Education Service concerning the sharing of the TM1 Laptops To Ghanaian Teachers.

From a press release today Management of Ghana Education Service(GES) wishes to update teachers, and the general public on the One-teacher One-laptop project.

Firstly The project was duly launched on 3’d September, 2021 by H.E. the Vice President. Dr. Mahamadu Bawuma, ably supported by the Minister for Education, his Deputy Ministers and the Director-General of GES.

Secondly As of today 10th December 2021, 80% of the 62,000 laptops for Senior High School teachers have been delivered across the regions. This phase is expected to be completed on the 17th of December, 2021.

Thirdly Phase 2 and 3 for the Junior High and Primary schools will commence in January 2022 when schools re-open.

Fourthly The TM1 laptop has a training component: so far, 260 GES District ICT Coordinators have been trained with certified Microsoft ICT tools to provide technical support to teachers.

Lastly Digital online training and learning modules will commence in the coming weeks for every teacher. The training will include digitizing lesson notes. using online tools for learning management and supporting learners.

These online trainings will attract CPD points for the teacher.

To ensure teachers get access to approved GES/NaCCA learning resources, KA Technology has signed an agreement with all major publishers to have their textbooks and other teaching and learning materials uploaded on the portal.

Management remains committed to the scheduled dates for the distribution.
